Florence Flugaur

Florence Flugaur, 92, a Stevens Point native and a former resident of St. Louis Park, Minn., died Wednesday, June 22, 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Louis Park, Minn. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Stevens Point at a later date.
Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 p.m. Tuesday until the Mass.
Miss Flugaur was born in Stevens Point, a daughter of the
late George and Elizabeth (Theiler) Flugaur. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs
High School.
She graduated from Central State Teachers College (now the
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point) in 1946.
She taught in elementary schools in Wisconsin and Minnesota
before beginning a career in editing and writing for Catholic Publications
(later Winston Press and finally CBS).
Survivors include one sister, Ann (Norman) Hoffman; three brothers,
George (Frances) Flugaur, Frank (Lorraine) Flugaur and Gerard (Maxine) Flugaur;
and many godchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by infant twin brothers; one brother,
Richard Flugaur; four sisters, Mary Heiman, Agnes Lawless, Elizabeth and Rita;
two nieces; and one nephew.
