William S. Shedler

William S. Shedler, 86, a Stevens Point native and former
Stevens Point resident, died Friday, June 24, 2016.
Per his wishes, he was cremated, and no services are
scheduled at this time.

Mr. Shedler was born May 29, 1930, in Stevens Point. He
graduated in 1948 from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, where his
family resided.
Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army Signal
Corps.
He was married to Jeanne Cassidy 64 years ago.
After his honorable discharge from the service, he joined
American Telephone & Telegraph Co. and traveled extensively while holding
various management positions. He retired from AT&T after 35 years of
service.
After retirement, he and his wife, Jeanne, moved to
Harlingen, Texas.
He served as a Eucharistic minister, along with his wife at
St. Anthony Catholic Church.
While living in Wisconsin, he did volunteer work for the
Senior Citizen Center, driving seniors to doctor and hospital appointments. He
and his wife also served as Eucharistic ministers in their parish there.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Shedler; one daughter,
Mary Jean (James); three grandsons; and four great-grandsons.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Scott William and
his parents.
