K-9 Fundraiser Returns to Copps

Copps Market in Stevens Point is holding its 2016 Bottle Rocket Blast Fundraiser from July 1-3.

The annual event raises funds for the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.

The event includes special sales, special appearances by Portage Co. K-9 Officers Lady and Baco, as well as prizes and raffles.

The Kemps Moo-Mobile will be selling jumbo root beer floats for $1.00 and ice cream sandwiches for $0.50.

Sheriff Mike Lukas will greet the public on Friday, July 1 from 10 AM until noon; Deputy Dan Wachowiak and K-9 partner Baco will also be on hand Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Deputy John White and his K-9 partner Lady are scheduled to appear on Sat. July 2 from noon until 4 PM.

Donations are welcome, and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the K-9 unit.

The event will be held Fri., July 1 from 9 AM to 5 PM; Sat., July 2 from 9 AM to 5 PM; and Sun., July 3 from 9 AM to 2 PM.
