Jean S. Schroeder, 89, West Bend, mother of a Plover woman,
died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at the Cottages at Cedar Run in West Bend.


A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9,
at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend. Graveside prayers and
interment will be at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.


Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Saturday
until the service.


Memorials are appreciated to Still Waters Community United
Methodist Church (PO Box 406, 3617 Scenic Road, Jackson, WI 53037).

Mrs. Schroeder was born and raised in Burlington, where she
graduated with honors from Burlington High School in 1945.


She received a Bachelor of Science degree in institutional food
management in 1949 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


She was married to Walton M. Schroeder in September 1949. He
preceded her in death.


They moved to Wauwatosa, where she was the food service administrator
for the Wauwatosa Public Schools.


She retired in 1985 and made a permanent home on Little
Cedar Lake in West Bend.


A lifelong church member, she was an active volunteer at
Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, and later attended Still Waters United
Methodist Church in Jackson.


Survivors include two daughters, Susan Schroeder Halter and
Sandra Schroeder, Plover; one son, Robert Schroeder; one brother, Thomas
Treichel; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
