Christine I. Torzewski

Christine I. Torzewski, 98, Wausau, sister of a Stevens Point woman, died Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Wausau Manor Nursing Home while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday July 7, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wausau, with the Rev. William Grevatch presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the services.

Memorials may be directed to St. Michael Catholic Church in
Wausau.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Wausau assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.petersonkraemer.com.

Miss Torzewski was born Sept. 29, 1917, in Wausau, a daughter
of the late Anton and Mary (Klimek) Torzewski.

She was secretary and receptionist at
Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company, retiring after 27 years. Most of her
working years were in Wausau and included employment at St. Mary’s Hospital in
the admitting office, the Employment Office and Albrent Freight.

In the past, she had also been employed with the Red Cross
and Civil Service in the European Theatre and Alaska.

She was a choir member during its formative years at St.
Michael Parish and a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women, the Rosary
Society and former church circle.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Louise (Albert) Walkush,
Stevens Point; one niece, Mary Jo (Tom) Monien; and three nephews, David (Mary)
Torzewski, Gary Torzewski and Mark (Barb) Torzewski.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Larson;
two brothers, Edmund and Eugene Torzewski; as well as one sister and two
brothers who died in infancy.
