Work Continues on Bus. 51 in Plover

For the City Times
Crews have continued with storm sewer installation and grading of the southbound lanes of the reconstruction of Business 51/Post Road, with extra efforts on water main and sanitary sewer adjustments made within those lanes.
These efforts continue over the next week with concrete pavement placement and curb and gutter in southbound Business 51 lanes beginning from north end of project.
As always, motorists are reminded to drive with caution and also to be on the lookout for slow moving construction vehicles moving across public lanes from time to time.
As crews have shifted one-lane of traffic in each direction on Business 51 (Post Road) to the northbound (eastside) lanes for the next several months and with recent completion of railroad crossing reconstruction; we can now expect the eastside lanes in each direction to be in effect pretty static until traffic is shifted over to completed southbound (westside) lanes in mid-summer (July estimate).
The biggest change in traffic is limitation of left-hand turns along the construction corridor, except at major intersections; necessitating turning early or driving past targeted businesses and working your way (locally) to access such businesses. Be patient, plan ahead and a minor re-route will help get you to where you’re going safely.
The overall Phase 1 of this much larger project is scheduled for completion in November, 2016 with future phases slated for 2018/19 and 2020/21.
