Rhody L. Nornberg, 82, Port Lavaca, Texas, a Stevens Point native, died Friday, July 1, 2016, at home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Port Lavaca, Texas. Inurnment will be Monday, July 11, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation will be at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca, Texas, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South
Texas.

Mr. Nornberg was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Stevens Point, a son
of the late Leo and Mary Nornberg of Polonia.

He attended St. Norbert’s Preparatory Academy in West De
Pere. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University
of Michigan and a Master of Science degree from the University of Arkansas.

He served in the U.S. Air Force (USAF) for 22 years and retired
as a major. He captained the USAF International Rifle Team that won multiple
medals in the 1967 Pan American games and received the designation of USAF
Distinguished Rifleman and Distinguished International Shooter. He was also
awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and 10 Air Medals during his three tours
in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bert Nornberg; three
children, Sharon M. Schwank, Plymouth, Mich., Rhody V. (Lorrie Henderson) Nornberg,
Corpus Christi, Texas, and Michael D. (Patcharaporn Hwangsiri) Nornberg, Dana
Point, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, James
Nornberg.
