Aralda Rose Larson, 87, a longtime Amherst resident, died Sunday,
July 3, 2016. She was under the care of Waupaca Elder Care for eight years.


A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday,
July 8, at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst.


A private family memorial service will be held at a later
date. Burial will be at Sheridan Village Cemetery in the town of Farmington in Waupaca
County.


A memorial fund has been established.


The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst assisted the
family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at
www.hollyfuneralhome.com.


Mrs. Larson was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Eau Claire, a
daughter of the late Aralda (Kamke) and David Thayer. She grew up in
Neillsville, where her family owned a photography business. She graduated as
salutatorian of her class from Neillsville High School in 1947.


Her parents moved with her to River Falls when she entered
the State Teachers College there.


She received a degree in English education and a minor in library
science in 1951 and taught English in Glenwood City and Benton.


She was married to Charles Larson June 6, 1953.


They lived in Cuba City before moving
to Waupaca in 1968 and Amherst in 1979.


She and her husband operated National Farm Book Company, an
agricultural textbook supplier, for 19 years.


Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Charles, Amherst;
two daughters, Aralda Ann (Brion) Bell, Waupaca, and Catherine (Gregory) Leaf
of Hudson; three sons, Jeffers (Eileen Nyholt) Larson and David (Julie Eiden)
Larson, both of Waupaca, and Paul (Fonda) Larson, Appleton; and seven
grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Eric Miles
Larson.
