Verna Maxine Hager, 85, Wisconsin Rapids, a Bancroft native,
died Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Strawberry Lane Medical and Rehabilitation
Center in Wisconsin Rapids.


Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at St.
Luke Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. Timothy Wenger officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.


Visitation will be at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in
Wisconsin Rapids from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 8, and at the church from 10 a.m.
Saturday until the services.


Condolences may be offered online at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.


Mrs. Hager was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Bancroft, a daughter
of the late Mac and Dora (Sparks) Scanlan.


She was married to LeRoy Hager Feb. 7, 1949, in Wisconsin
Rapids. They were blessed with 67 years of happiness.


She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she
participated in the Elizabeth Group.


Survivors include her husband of 67 years, LeRoy; three children,
Edward (Jody) Hager, Charlotte (Ronald) Clark and Jeanne Hager; one brother,
Leland Scanlan; one sister, Elenore Cheatle, Hoquiam, Wash.; nine grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by one sister and one great-great-granddaughter.
