Sister Bernadette Peplinski, SSJ-TOSF

cross1Sister Bernadette Peplinski, 92, a Sister of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis for 77 years, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at St. Joseph Motherhouse in Stevens Point.

Visitation will begin with a prayer services at 9:00 A.M., Friday July 8, 2016 at St. Joseph Motherhouse Chapel, 1300 Maria Drive in Stevens Point. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Todd Mlsna officiating. Burial will follow in the Convent Cemetery.

The former Rosemary Peplinski was born April 8, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wis.. She was the sixth of seven children of Stanley and Genevieve (Grzechowiak) Peplinski.

On August 8, Sister Bernadette was received into the novitiate of the Order, and pronounced perpetual vows on August 13, 1946.

For 17 years Sister Bernadette taught primary or intermediate grades in several Catholic schools in Wisconsin; locally at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel, Fancher. She then assisted in the finance office at the Motherhouse, and at Divine Infant Hospital, Wakefield, MI, St. Joseph Home and Hospital in River Falls, River Pines Sanatorium in Stevens Point and St. Vincent Home, Freeport, IL.

After nine years as laundry manager at the Motherhouse and 47 years in active ministry, she retired to offer supportive services.

Survivors include three sisters, also residing at the Motherhouse: Sister Alphonse, Sister Josephine Marie and Sister Barbara Jean; one brother Henry G. Peplinski of Milwaukee, nieces, nephews, and the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Brother Aloysius, O.F.M., Brother Herman Joseph, O.F.M., and her sister-in-law, Sue Peplinski.

Memorials may be offered to the Sisters of St. Joseph, TOSF. Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family and the Sisters of St. Joseph TOSF. Online condolences may be offered by visiting www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.
