Man to Serve Jail Time for Eighth OWI

A Stevens Point man will spend three years in prison after being convicted of his eighth OWI.
Terrill Hintz, 41, was arrested during a traffic stop for speeding near Stanley St. and Michigan Ave. on Dec. 9, 2015. According to the criminal complaint, Hintz stumbled when he exited his vehicle, and later told police he did not have a driver’s license.
Hintz blew a 0.156 on a field breathalyzer test.
Hintz was sentenced in Portage Co. Circuit Court on Thursday and after pleading guilty. Judge Thomas Eagon sentenced Hintz to three years of initial confinement followed by three years of extended supervision.
Hintz was also fined $2,400 and lose his driver’s license revoked for three years,
