Former Point Resident Joins Afghanistan Commander Group

U.S. Army Colonel Chad Chasteen, graduated from the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle, Pa. with a master’s degree in Strategic Studies on June 10.
Chasteen and his classmates were addressed by Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley, who spoke about Army readiness and the future leadership challenges in a complex world.
Graduate studies included a completion of a Strategy Research Project, entitled, “Solving the Gordian Knot: Achieving Efficacy in a Diversified Army.”
A former resident of Stevens Point, Wisconsin will next serve at the Special Operations Advisory Group Commander to the Afghan Special Mission Wing in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The U.S. Army War College’s 10-month curriculum educates and develops senior military officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, as well as senior foreign military officers and civilian officials from a variety of federal agencies, to serve in strategic level command and staff positions worldwide.
