Sylvan ‘Bunkey Allen’ Kvaley
Sylvan “Bunkey Allen” Kvaley, 72, a former Amherst resident,
died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at the VA Memorial Hospital in
Madison.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from noon to 3
p.m. Sunday, July 17, at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst.

Mr. Kvaley was born April 27, 1944, in Neenah, a son of the
late Sylvan and Hazel Kvaley. He grew up in Amherst and was raised by his
grandma, Mabel Allen.
He was married to Joyce (Berto) Arena in 1961. They later
divorced.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963.
He worked as a longshoreman at the Port of Milwaukee for
many years and later moved back to Amherst where he drove truck for his uncle.
Survivors include his fiancée, Janice Calvey; two daughters
DeDe (Pat) Casey and Lorie (John Kowalski) Miller; one stepdaughter, Jenny
(Dave) Tovar; one “adopted” daughter, Lisa Rausch; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
four great-stepgrandchildren; three half-siblings, David (Pat) Kawleski,
Darlene (Richard) Christianson and Bobby (Georgia) Kawleski; and two aunts,
Tina Vickery, California, and Audrey Allen, Florida.
