Driver ID’d in Wednesday’s Car V Building Crash

No serious injuries were reported after a Stevens Point woman crashed into a downtown building on Wednesday.
Sgt. Greg Bean said the 911 call was received at 4:03 PM, and officers responded to Executive Place, 1265 Main St., to find the damaged vehicle had come to a stop on the sidewalk.
A crew from the Stevens Point Fire Dept. and Portage Co. EMS also responded.
Bean said police discovered alcohol inside the female driver’s car, and after failing a field sobriety test she was placed under arrest.
The driver was identified as 26-year-old Samantha Robinson.
“She was transported by officers to St. Michael’s Hospital and consented to a blood draw, of course it’ll take a week or two before those results come back,” Bean said.
Three women were working inside the office at the time of the crash, Bean said, but no one was injured and there was some “minor damage” apparent to the inside of the building.
Police were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
