Plover police are investigating a July 13 stabbing which occurred at about 7 PM on the 3000 block of Haga Drive.
The female victim, whose name and age were not released, was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. The extent of her injuries was not immediately released.
“We believe this was an isolated incident and the general public is not at harm,” said Lt. Ryan Fox Thursday morning. “Obviously, the investigation is ongoing and very active right now.”
The suspect, a 15-year-old male family member, was taken into custody following a two-county search on Thursday. His name is being withheld, and will not be released unless he is charged in criminal court.
“This was an issue between family members, we just wanted to get this out and tell people to rest assured the general public was not in danger,” Fox said.
Fox said Portage Co. EMS also responded to the home, and the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office assisted by searching “various areas of the county” for the boy with no luck.
“We also had fantastic assistance by Stevens Point Police Department, which had some of their detectives assist our detective bureau in processing the scene,” Fox said.
Investigators were on the scene until about 2 AM, Fox added.
