Mary Mae Salzman, 88, Milladore, died Thursday, July 21,
2016, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Palliative Care in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 25, at St.
Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore, with the Rev. John Ofori-Domah
officiating. Burial was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Milladore.

Visitation was at the church Monday.

A memorial in her name was designated to Mary’s Place in
Marshfield.

Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.rembsfh.com.

Mrs. Salzman was born June 15, 1928, in Sherry, the eldest
child of the late Elmer and Mary (Spice) Whitney. She attended Sherry Grade
School and graduated from Auburndale High School.

She was married to Melvin Salzman at St. Wenceslaus Catholic
Church in Milladore on her birthday in 1948. They celebrated their 50th
anniversary in 1998. He died on June 11, 2001.

She was active at St. Kilian Catholic Church. For many years,
she was the church organist, a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine
teacher and oversaw the Senior Hot Lunch Site.

After meeting her, Philippine artist Von Mendoza was
inspired to paint “Grandma Minnie Roses,” an artwork to honor her flower
gardens and her gracious nature.

Survivors include three children, Phill (Sandy), Bartlesville,
Okla., Steve, Arpin, and Carol (John) Hrusovszky, Junction City; one daughter-in-law,
Tabitha (Bart) Forman, Marshfield; two sisters, Arlene Salzmann, Junction City,
and Linda Lou Koplien, Sherry; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
and one great-great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Chris;
one brother, Edmund Whitney; and one grandchild.
