John J. Mocadlo Jr., 91

John J. Mocadlo Jr., 91, of the town of Stockton, Stevens Point, died peacefully with his family at his bedside at the Portage County Health Care Center on Friday, July 22, 2016.

He was born on July 20, 1925, in Stevens Point, the son of the late John Sr. and Frances (Sekorski) Mocadlo. His marriage to Lorraine Levandowski took place on May 6, 1947, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point.

Lorraine and John built and operated Oakland Mobile Home Park and they raised their family on a dairy farm in the town of Stockton. John also worked at the Whiting-Plover Paper Mill for many years before retirement. He was an active grandfather and cherished his family. He enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives across the country. After Lorraine’s passing, John married Lennie Cudworth on June 6, 1986, at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Custer.

Survivors include 10 children (six daughters and four sons): Marion (Thomas) Coit of Lake City, Minn., Robert (Joan) Mocadlo of Rosholt, Kathleen Jones of Stevens Point, Lois (Timothy) Murphy of Wausau, Dennis (Liz) Mocadlo of Custer, Laurie (Charles) Kostka of Rosholt, Joan Watson of Madison, John (Fiancé Kathi Beyer) Mocadlo III of New London, Geralyn Filtz of Custer, Charles (Kathleen Lepinski) Mocadlo of Stockton. He is further survived by 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Hubert Mocadlo; and step-children, Charlotte Gagas, Cheryl (Butch) Gagas and Sharon Kurszewski.

John was also preceded in death by both his wives, three brothers, Peter, Carl and Leo; three sisters, Cecelia Schulist, Sister Marian Mocadlo, Regina Mocadlo; and one daughter, Bonnie.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Holy Spirit Parish, 838 Fremont Street in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 PM – 8 PM Monday at Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point, and again at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time for mass. The rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Monday at the funeral home.
