Plover Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10262 received the prestigious “Wisconsin All-State ‘White Hat’ Achievement Award,” which recognizes posts who successfully participate in mandatory and additional VFW programs, at the Wisconsin VFW State Convention held in Appleton in June.
To qualify for the award, a post must meet or exceed stringent requirements in areas such as membership recruitment and retention, community service and support, youth scholarships and activities, teacher and scout of the year, buddy poppy distribution, veterans and military support, to name a few.
During a special ceremony at the convention, Plover VFW Post Commander Ronald Stoflet and Post Quartermaster Jim Cline were presented their “white hats” in recognition of the Post’s team effort to earn this status for the 2015-2016 program year.
Plover VFW Auxiliary received a first-place VFW Auxiliary Achievement Award for excellence in meeting the goals and purposes of the VFW Auxiliary. Auxiliary President Mary Kimmel accepted the award at the Auxiliary State Convention award ceremony.
The award recipients and their guests were also honored with a formal escort to their banquet tables by the VFW State Honor Guard.
