Martha M. ‘Marty’ Wanta

Martha M. “Marty” Wanta, 62, Stevens Point, died Thursday,
July 28, 2016, at her home while under the care of Ministry Hospice.


A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2,
at St. Peter Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens
Point from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, and in the St. Faustina Room of the church
from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass.


A memorial fund will be established in her name.


The Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Plymouth
and the Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point assisted with arrangements. Condolences
may be offered online at www.suchonfh.com or www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.


Mrs. Wanta was born June 18, 1954, in Cheverly, Md., a
daughter of the late Anthony J. and Mary A. (Ash) Suchon. She attended St.
Peter Parochial Catholic Grade School, P.J. Jacobs Junior High School and
graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High School in 1972.


She was married to Jeffery J. Wanta May 14, 1977, at St.
Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point.


After the marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point. She
worked at Point Bakery for a number of years and at Hanson Dun-Rite Dry
Cleaners. Most recently she was a cook for the Sisters of St. Joseph Third Order
of St. Francis Convent Motherhouse.


Survivors include: her husband of 39 years, Jeff, Stevens
Point; four children, Rebecca (Larry) Kretzschmer, Stevens Point, Kelly
(Christian) Nitz, Plover, Matthew (Tanya) Wanta, Pulaski, and Heidi (John)
Kirner, Appleton; seven brothers and sisters, Anthony (Barbara) Suchon, Santa
Rosa, Calif., Sarah (Robert) Greene, Francis (Nancy) Suchon, John (Rhonda)
Suchon and Loretta Mallek, all of Plover, Sam (Sharon) Suchon, Plymouth, and
Mary (Dale) Skrzeckoski, Stevens Point; six grandchildren; two sisters-in-law,
Sue (Gary) Tuskowski and Jane (Tom) Worzalla, both of Stevens Point; and two
brothers-in-law, Kevin Wanta, Rudolph, and Scott (Karla) Wanta, Plover.


She was also preceded in death by one infant brother who
died at birth and two infant grandchildren.
