A 15-year-old accused of intentionally trying to stab a female family member to death is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Dylan Carver of Plover was arrested after police say he stabbed the 60-year-old woman five times in an unprovoked attack on July 13, then took her vehicle and fled to Wausau, leaving her to die. The woman, who had been taking blood thinners and was bleeding heavily, managed to get help from a neighbor and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. She has since been released.
Carver is being charged as an adult in Portage Co. Circuit Court with one felony count of first-degree intentional homicide. He is also charged with two misdemeanors, taking a vehicle without consent and theft of movable property.
According to the complaint, Plover police responded to a home on the 3000 block of Haga Dr. at about 7 PM on July 13 after the woman’s neighbor called 911. Police were processing the scene until about 2 AM the following morning.
According to Lt. Ryan Fox from PPD, Portage Co. deputies helped search the county for Carver throughout the night. He was found July 14 in Wausau by police there.
Carver remains behind bars on a $100,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear before Judge Thomas Flugaur at 1:30 PM on Aug. 1 for his initial appearance.
