Plover Fastpitch 13’s Win 2016 Ashwaubenon Tournament

The Plover Fastpitch 13’s Nationals have won the 2016 Ashwaubenon Fastpitch Tournament, held July 29-31 at the Pioneer Park Softball Complex.

The girls went an impressive 5-0 to claim the tournament’s 14U championship; the Plover 13’s are 34-7 for the tournament season.

In pool play, the Plover 13’s beat the Appleton Rockers 7-1 and Sheboygan Strikers 7-0. As the No. 1 seed in bracket play, Plover beat West Depere 7-0, then the Appleton Rockers 8-0.

In the championship game, the Plover 13’s won over Shawano 10-2.

Key 2016 Ashwaubenon Fastpitch Tournament Highlights for the Plover Fastpitch 13’s: team batting avg. .345; on base percentage .451; slugging % .409. Team pitching 0.84 ERA, with 39 strikeouts and opponent batting avg. of .138.

Plover Fastpitch 13’s roster includes #5 Ashlyn Chandler; #17 Jenna Eilers; #13 Olivia Schustek; #34 Madi Hintz; #27 Haley Raflik; #22 Erica Pronschinske; #12 Hannah Melum; #10 Jenna Hoerter; #14 Kennedy VanderLoop; #11 Jaden Jones; and #00 Maddie Kvatek.

Plover Fastpitch 13’s coaches are Todd VanderLoop, John Jones, Nate Schustek, Shawn Eilers and Scott Chandler.
