Don and Kathy Soderberg, Stevens Point, recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with their entire family.

The former Kathy Badzinski and Don Soderberg were married Aug. 12, 1961, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Thorp.

The bride’s parents were Louis and Rozella Badzinski, the groom’s parents were Arthur (Pat) and Eileen.

Don and Kathy grew up as neighbors and classmates in Thorp. They have lived in Stevens Point since 1971, where they raised their seven children.

In 1997, Don retired from his teaching, coaching and administration career at Pacelli Catholic Schools. In 2004, Kathy retired from a 23-year career at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The couple’s children include Brad and Linda (Williams) Soderberg, Charlottesville, Va.; Terri and Jeff Wysocki, Mosinee; Lisa and Jim Collins, Dubuque, Iowa; Kurt and Paula (Letsche) Soderberg, Hammond; Scott Soderberg, Bradenton, Fla.; Beth and Jeff Chandonais, Stevens Point; and Megan Soderberg, Xenia, Ohio. They also have 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
