The Boys & Girls Club is ready to put rubber to the road for Portage County kids.

Thanks to several local sponsors, the Bike 4 Boys & Girls Club event will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, at AIG/Travel Guard. All proceeds benefit daily programming at the Club’s 8 different locations throughout Portage County including Almond/Bancroft, Junction City, Plover, Rosholt and Stevens Point.

Last year over 250 people of all ages and abilities, from two to 82, participated in this non-timed event. There are multiple course lengths — 4, 13, 20, or 62 miles — so whether you are up for a challenge or are looking for a short, relaxing ride, you have several options to choose from.

Each rider who signs up for the Bike 4 Boys & Girls Club event serves as a great role model for the 100 Club kids that attend.

Registrants all receive a free t-shirt, water bottle and drawstring bag, and all youth participants receive a medal when they cross the finish line. The ride is followed by an after party that includes a free lunch, music, family games, face painting and opportunities to win prizes from local businesses.

All proceeds from the event will support Club programs like the LEAP reading program, Healthy Habits, Cooking Club, Science Club, Bike Club, Power Hour homework program Career Launch and many more.

More information on this event and the Boys & Girls Club can be found online at www.bgclubpc.org, www.facebook.com/bgclubpc or by calling 715.341.4FUN.
