A Custer man could face more than 40 years in prison after being charged with incest and sexual intercourse with a child.
Austin J. Glodowski, 21, has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a female family member. Police were called when Glodowski was seen at a local hospital for undisclosed reasons, when it was discovered he was carrying a note apologizing for his behavior, which he characterized as “horribly inappropriate”, according to the complaint.
The incident allegedly took place for the second time in May, according to the complaint, following a two-to-three week period when Glodowski was reportedly “fighting with his family”. Investigators discovered sexually explicit Facebook messages between the Glodowski and the girl, who then engaged in intercourse after other family members fell asleep. The incident reportedly occurred in the same room where another family member was asleep, according to the complaint.
When questioned by deputies, Glodowski admitted he should not have had sex with the girl, also saying because she was younger she “did not know right from wrong”.
The charge of felony incest carries a maximum penalty of 40 years and a $100,000 fine. Two misdemeanors, sexual intercourse with a child and bail-jumping, each carry a possible sentence of nine months in jail and a fine of $10,000.
Glodowski makes his initial appearance on Aug. 8 in Branch 3 of Portage Co. Circuit Court.
