THE ANSWERS:

1. C- Swetz’s used to be Tank ‘N Tummy.
2. C- Dave Koch Sports (in the mall) used to bring in several pro athletes to their card shows to sign autographs. Tim Harris, Paul Hornung, Chris Jacke, Tony Canadeo, Gary Varsho, Jerry Augustine, BJ Surhoff, etc.
3. D- Joe Mama’s.
4. B- Plover’s Walt Wilmot played for the Washington Nationals (1888-89); Chicago Colts (1890-95); and New York Giants (1897-98). He led the National League in triples in 1889 with 19. In 1890, Wilmot led the National League in home runs with 13. On August 22, 1891, Wilmot became the first player in major league history to be walked six times in one game. He’s buried in Plover.
5. A- Hetzer’s.
6. C- The bars in the Legion’s basement were the Foxhole and Underground.
7. E- The Packers scrimmaged the Saints at Goerke Field.
8. C- fire hydrant.
9. D- Trey’s really nifty newspaper was the “Plover Profile”.
10. A- The “Black Bridge” is supposed to be haunted.
