Nancy Weber-Canales
Nancy Weber-Canales, 67, Whiting, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2016,
at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau due to pneumonia and complications of multiple
myeloma.
The family asks relatives and friends to join them between 2
and 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at 1804 April Lane, Whiting (Stevens Point), to
celebrate her life and walk through her gardens.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Humane Society of
Portage County.

Mrs. Weber-Canales was born Feb. 6, 1949, in Rochester, N.Y.,
a daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret Weber.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and received a master’s degree in occupational therapy from
Western Michigan University.
She moved to Stevens Point to take a job as a member of the
Portage County Human Services Department’s Community Support Team, to support
the lives of many adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
She was married to Jim Canales.
In retirement she became a Master Gardener.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Rose and Renee Beth;
her husband, Jim; one brother, David (Claudia) Weber; and one sister, Joyce
(Howard).
