Dennis P. McCarthy Sr., 71, father of a Junction City man, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.

Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. Doug Schalow officiating. Military rites will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2534 of Wisconsin Rapids.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the service.

A memorial will be established in his name at a later date.

Mr. McCarthy was born Sept. 10, 1944, in Wisconsin Rapids, a
son of the late William and Dora (Westover) McCarthy.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was
stationed in Germany.

He was employed as a custodian for the state of Wisconsin.

Survivors include five children; Kathleen McCarthy,
Janesville, Dennis (Belinda) McCarthy Jr., Beloit, Kari (Marty) Rivette,
Poynette, Daniel (Jamie) McCarthy, Junction City, and Amanda Bjorkquist,
Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters, Beverly Kedrowski and Thea (Tom) Provost, both
of Wisconsin Rapids, one brother, William (Karen) McCarthy, Vesper; 14
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy and
Ronald; and five sisters, Neoma, Marlene “Chuckie,” Phyllis, Nancy and Donna.
