Historical Society seeks community help to identify faces in photo

The Portage County Historical Society is currently compiling a historical book on the history of the U.S. Army 1st Battalion 120th Field Artillery with its Alpha Battery located in Marshfield and its Bravo Battery located in Stevens Point. Before the unit federalized as the 120th Field Artillery unit in 1917 in Waco, Texas, a group of Portage County residents organized as Troop I Calvary. They were then shipped to Camp Douglas in Chicago, Ill., then to Waco for induction into the U.S. Army. The Historical Society is seeking information about the names of the men in these photos of Troop I’s 20-year anniversary dinner. Anyone with any information or possible identifications can call 715-600-4930. (Contributed photos)
