Nancy Weber-Canales, 67, of Whiting, passed away on Aug. 8, 2016, due to pneumonia and complications from multiple myloma at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

She spent a lifetime showing kindness, respect and great love to her family, friends, those she worked with and for, and random strangers she would engage in interesting conversation.

Nancy was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Western Michigan University. Born in Rochester, New York, she moved to Stevens Point to take a job as a member of the Portage County Human Services Department’s Community Support Team, where she supported the lives of many adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

Retirement brought Nancy time to become a Master Gardener, time to enjoy everything about nature, to create beauty through her many varied hobbies and crafts, to volunteer and to spend more time with her family.

Nancy was known by her family and friends as a kind, creative, caring and sweet person with a beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Margaret Weber. Nancy was dearly loved and will be missed by her daughters, Anna Rose and Renee Beth; her husband, Jim; brother, David (Claudia); and sister, Joyce (Howard); sister-in-law, Mary (Rich); and brother-in-law, Wayne (Kristine).

Memorials may be made in Nancy’s name to the Humane Society of Portage County.

The family asks you to join them anytime between 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at 1804 April Lane, Stevens Point, WI 54481 – to celebrate Nancy’s life and walk through her beautiful gardens.

Pisarski Funeral Homes & Cremation Center of Stevens Point and Plover are honored to be assisting the family. For online condolences, please visit www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.
