No Serious Injuries in Car Vs. Semi Accident

City Times Staff
Portage Co. deputies say no one suffered serious injuries following a car versus semi accident on Hwy. 54 in Plover on Wednesday.
Deputies received a 911 call at 11:30 AM on Aug. 10, when a caller reported a vehicle had rear-ended a semi truck leaving the McCain Foods USA in Plover.
The truck sustained minor damage to its rear bumper, according to authorities on the scene. The car’s entire front end was smashed in, but luckily, no serious injuries were reported.
“They were both eastbound; the truck had its flashers on as it was coming out of McCain’s [parking lot],” said Portage Co. Deputy Craig Loiselle. “The car did not slow down for the truck, and ran right into the back of it.”
Along with Portage Co. deputies, Portage Co. EMS and Plover Fire Dept. was called to the scene.
“There were just minor injuries,” said Plover Fire Chief Mark Deaver. “They were both moving, which is good in this case otherwise it would have been worse.”
Crews were on the scene for about 90 minutes.
