Richard J. Bemowski, 79, Wisconsin Rapids, a Stevens Point
native and father of two Stevens Point men, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, at his
home. He battled with leukemia and renal failure for eight years.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday,
Aug. 13, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with
the Rev. Valentine Joseph officiating.


Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until
the Mass.


Memorials may be designated to Ministry Homecare Hospice.


Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.ritchayfuneralhome.com.


Mr. Bemowski was born Aug. 8, 1937, in Stevens Point, a son
of the late John and Bernice (Buza) Bemowski. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs
High School in Stevens Point in 1955.


He was married to Melaine Osinski Sept. 6, 1958, at St.
Elizabeth Catholic Church in Milwaukee.


He was employed at Milwaukee Transformer as a draftsman.


The couple settled in Stevens Point a year later where they
raised their five children. He worked at Bake Rite Baking Co. in Stevens Point,
Whiting Plover Paper Mill, the
Sentry Golf Course and
Sentry Insurance in the supply department until his early retirement in 2000.


After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Bella Vista,
Ark. They moved back to Wisconsin in 2004 when his health began to fail.


Survivors include his wife, Melaine; four sons, Richard D.
(Jacqueline), Hampton, Va., Jeffrey P., Wisconsin Rapids, and Robert J. and Douglas
(Deb), both of Stevens Point; one daughter, Debra L. (Todd Hansen), Wisconsin
Rapids; two sisters, Carol (Bob) Ryskoski, Sheboygan, and Sister Janice
Bemowski, Chicago, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two
aunts, Leona (Buza) Staudt and Mary (Robert) Feltz.
