Police Find 30 Marijuana Plants Growing Near Elementary School

A 55-year-old Stevens Point man is facing drug charges after narcotics detectives found more than 30 marijuana plants growing in his back yard.
Stevens Point police, along with the Central Wisconsin Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a home on the 3300 block of Prais St. on Aug 3 at 11:39. The home is located near Washington Elementary School.
The resident, Timothy M. Mutschlecner, is suspected of marijuana possession, manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
SPPD Assistant Chief Tony Babl said the department has requested charges be filed in the Portage Co. District Attorney’s Office.
“The suspect was cooperative at the scene and not taken into custody,” Babl said.
A court date for Mutschlecner has not yet been scheduled.
