Phillip J. Newton
Phillip John Newton, 61, a Stevens Point native and brother
to three Portage County women, died Monday, June 27, 2016, in Piqua, Ohio.
A celebration of life service for Phillip J. Newton, 61, a
Stevens Point native who died June 27, 2016, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday,
Aug. 20, in St. Stephen’s Cemetery at the gravesite of Marcus and Virginia
Family and friends will gather at the house of John and
Karen Trebatowski following the service.

Mr. Newton was born Aug. 17, 1954, in Stevens Point, a son
of the late Marcus J. and Virginia Ann (Engebretson) Newton. He attended St.
Stephen Grade School and Pacelli High School.
He had various jobs in construction and worked as a truck
driver for the Atlas Van Lines Company, driving coast to coast.
Survivors include one daughter, Christina (Jamie) Bishop,
Tallassee, Ala.; one brother, Daniel, South Milwaukee; four sisters, Kathleen
(Ed Lichte) Newton, Richland Hills, Texas, Karen (John) Trebatoski, Stevens
Point, Laureen (John) Studinski, Custer, and Linda Newton, Stevens Point; one
granddaughter; 10 nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces
