Richard R. Redding
Richard Ralph Redding, 82, Stevens Point, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield following a long battle with dementia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at St. Stanislaus Church of Holy Spirit Parish in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the Mass.

Mr. Redding was born in 1934, a son of the late Erven and
Helen (Peabody) Redding.
He was married to Sylvia Firkus July 4, 1959.
He served as the area supervisor for the Wisconsin
Department of Motor Vehicles.
He coached youth sports and was one of the early organizers
of the Special Olympics program in Stevens Point.
Survivors include three sons, Tim (Sally), Rick (Joann) and
Paul (Kara); three sisters, Lucille Knudtson, Mary Redding and Dorothy Jajewski;
six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, June Klish; and
one brother, Erv.
