A Town of Carson woman faces over 40 years in prison and $120,000 in fines after she sold two informants over 10 grams of methamphetamine.

Jessica Johnson, 31, is charged with two counts of felonious delivery of methamphetamine, which could net her up to $50,000 in fines, 15 years imprisonment or both for each count if convicted. Her driving privileges may also be suspended for between six months and five years.

At the time of her arrest, Johnson had been free on a $5,000 cash bond for pending meth possession charges in Wood County. Because she violated the conditions of her bond there, she will also be charged with two counts of felony bail jumping, which each carry up to a $10,000 fine, six years imprisonment or both if convicted.

Johnson was absent for her initial appearance in Portage Co. Circuit Court on Aug. 15 as she is currently in custody. Her attorney, Ryan Drengler, appeared on her behalf.

According to court documents, during the months of July and August 2016, a drug investigator from the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office worked with confidential informants who purchased methamphetamine from the defendant. The first such buy, took place on July 14 in the Town of Carson, where the informant purchase 3.6 grams of methamphetamine from Johnson for $275.

The second controlled purchased occurred on August 4, 2016 at an undisclosed location in Stevens Point, when an informant purchased 7.3 grams of methamphetamine from Johnson for $500.

The drugs were turned over to law enforcement as evidence following each purchase.

Johnson is currently held on a $10,000 cash bond though she has requested a reduction in her bond. If she posts bond, she will be prohibited to possess or consume controlled substances, to not associate with anyone who possesses or consumes controlled substances and she must report alcohol and drug free the Day Report Center seven days a week.

She returns to court on Aug. 22 at 3:00 PM for a preliminary hearing.
