Wallace F. Albert

Wallace F. Albert, 99, Wisconsin Rapids, a Junction City
native, died at Edgewater Nursing Home Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with Pastor John Grohs
officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Mausoleum in Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until
the services.

Mr. Albert was born May 9, 1917, in Junction City, a son of the
late Charles and Caroline (Mayer) Albert.
He entered the U.S. Navy in 1936 and received his training
at Great Lakes, Ill. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He was honorably
discharged from the Navy in 1955 as a chief engineer.
He was married to Rosemary McKenzie July 17, 1949, in St.
Joseph, Mo.
He worked at Port Edwards Paper Mill in the finishing room
and also farmed in the Junction City area, raising black Angus.
He and his wife were foster parents
for 12 years in Portage County.
They later moved to Wisconsin Rapids.
He took a course in upholstering and taught night classes at
Mid-State Technical College until his retirement. He also continued to work on
furniture at home with his business Wally’s Upholstering.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; two daughters, Mary
Beth Bell, Strafford, and Linda (John) Karl, Wisconsin Rapids; five grandchildren;
and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Arnold,
Alvin, Ernie, Edward, Norman and Charles Jr.; and one sister, Ruth Steuck.
