Letter: Feingold’s Leadership Skills Not There
To the Editor-
I note that last Friday, Mayor Wiza (SP) and Mayor Vruwink (WR) publically endorsed former Senator Russ Feingold over current Senator Ron Johnson. They state, “Feingold better reflects our values and has demonstrated his willingness to support efforts within the state to solicit and receive federal funding.”
I’m wondering how Feingold did that while living and working in California since he lost to Sen. Johnson.
Former Sen. Feingold was in office for 18 years. With that seniority you would expect him to have held some committee chairmanship….especially since the Democrat Party was in control of House and Senate most of that time. His own party apparently didn’t consider him a leader.
In his first term, Senator Ron Johnson has been appointed to the very important chairmanship of the Homeland Security Committee. His peers recognize his skilled leadership.
Senator Johnson and his family live in Wisconsin; he started a company in Wisconsin; that company employs thousands of Wisconsin residents. He really is for Wisconsin.
I will put Ron Johnson’s leadership and Wisconsin values up against former Senator Feingold any day of the week.
