City Alderman Releases Book ‘Debunking GOP’

A Stevens Point alderman has released a new book for sale
In an email news release, Shorr said the new book, titled I Call Bull*** is about “debunking the GOP’s main policy ideas”.
“The project is a close cousin of Norman Ornstein’s and Thomas Mann’s It’s Even Worse Than It Looks, taking their idea of asymmetric polarization and applying it to the political debates about economic, healthcare, foreign and voting rights policy,” Shorr said.
Shorr was elected to the city’s second district seat — which, like all other municipal seats is a nonpartisan office — in April, having beaten incumbent Denise Mrozek by a vote of 392 to 287.
At a recent city meeting while discussing a construction permit for a Ministry St. Michael’s expansion project, Shorr said he was “concerned” about loosing a pedestrian pathway on hospital property between residential neighborhoods and UW-Stevens Point, even though that had already been vacated by the city last July.
Shorr is also a strong supporter of pedestrian and bicyclist accommodations throughout the city.
Shorr’s book is for sale at amazon.com.
