CVB: Orange Barrel Art Tour Ends Labor Day
City Times Staff
Summer is coming to an end and so is the Orange Barrel Art promotion.
Sculptures made from orange construction barrels, cones and road construction posts have been on public display since June, a measure by the the Stevens Point Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), along with CREATE Portage County, in an effort to promote tourism, but also to recognize construction season in an artistic manner.
Brochures and maps of the artistic creations are still available at the CVB’s Visitor Information Center, 340 Division St., or online at www.OrangeBarrelArt.com.
The promotion will officially end on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5th.
“We ask that you all remove your piece(s) from their designated locations the week of September 5-11,” the CVB said in an email news release. “Because of the success of this trial promotion we will be bringing it back in 2017.”
