LETTER: Dewey Chairman Leaving Residents ‘in the Dust’

To the Editor-
Is Town of Dewey Chairman Dennis Hintz doing his job as chairman?
My husband and I live on the corner of Dewey Dr. and Willow Springs Dr.; we have lived there for 49 years.
This is the road leading to the Dewey shooting range. It is heavily traveled by hunters going to target shoot, as well as Portage Co. sheriff’s and Stevens Point police personnel. Because of the increase in target-shooting options, there is a considerable increase in traffic.
This is a dirt road and the dust on this road is unbearable.
I contacted Chairman Dennis Hintz for dust control THREE months ago. He has not supplied it.
My husband had a stroke earlier this year and is partially paralyzed; I have asthma. We are having serious health issues because of this dust. Chairman Hintz is aware of this.
Just because we are senior citizens does not mean we should be ignored.
Heaven help us if we have to go through this every year.
Is Mr. Hintz doing his job? What do you think?
