Jay-Mar Has Successful Wurst Cookout

Jay-Mar, Inc. of Plover raised more than $1,000 during its annual Wurst Cookout of the Summer.
The company, known for its animal feeds and lawn and garden, held its 14th Annual Wurst Cookout of the Summer on Saturday, Aug. 6. Hot dog and brat sales raised just over $430 for the Humane Society of Portage County.
This year’s cookout was held in conjunction Jay-Mar’s Dog Day of Summer event, staged as an annual family fun day. The event’s basket raffle alone raised $600, that was equally divided among the humane society and the Portage Co. Sheriff’s K-9 Unit.
Donations to the craft tent also provided $145 for the K-9 Unit.
