Catherine M. Thomander, 90, Waupaca, a member of St. Olaf
Episcopal Church in Amherst, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Lakeview Manor in
Weyauwega.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3,
at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial
Park in Waupaca.


Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Saturday until
the service.

Miss Thomander was born July 14, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., a
daughter of the late Earl and Adeline (Gollrad) Thomander. She grew up and
spent her school years in Chicago before moving to Scandinavia in 1945.


She started her career working for her father in his aluminum
window business. She was the owner/operator of Kay’s Gift Shop in Waupaca for
20 years. She was the owner of the H & R Block franchise in Waupaca for
about 17 years and continued to work for H & R Block for about 28 years.


She was a member of St. Olaf Episcopal Church in Amherst. She
was past Matron of the former Waupaca Chapter 107 Order of the Eastern Star,
which she had joined in 1948.


Survivors include one sister, June (Roderick) Roehl,
Hancock; nieces; and nephews.


She was also preceded in death by one sister, Marie Rogan;
and two nephews.
