City Applying for ‘Silver’ Bike Friendly Designation
City Times Staff
The City of Stevens Point is looking to upgrade its bike-friendly status.
In 2013 the city was awarded a Bronze Designation as a Bicycle Friendly Community from the League of American Bicyclists, its first inclusion on the list. The city is now applying for a higher recognition — silver.
As part of the review process the League of American Bicyclists has created a local review process. Area residents are invited to complete the survey before Sept. 15.
According to a news release from the city, a higher designation will open the city up to grant opprtunities to improve bicycle facilities.
The survey expires at 2 AM on Sept. 15 and can be found here.
