Fans of Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers will have to go elsewhere for their Frosty fix.
The restaurant, which operated locally for more than 20 years with its popular soft-serve Frosty’s, root beer floats and square hamburgers, has closed.
Bob Bertini, a representative of Wendy’s corporate offices in Dublin, Ohio, said he didn’t know the exact date the restaurant closed, but estimated it’s been shut down for about a month.
“That restaurant was a franchise-operated restaurant, and the franchisee made a decision to exit the business,” Bertini said by phone Tuesday. “We’re hoping to return to Stevens Point in the near future; we certainly appreciate our loyal customers over the years.”
The restaurant was owned by All Point Restaurants, Inc. According to the Wisconsin Dept. of Financial Institutions, the company was delinquent in its annual report as of July 1.
