Lucille Nordbye, 95, Stevens Point, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point. Burial will be in the Plover Cemetery in Plover.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service.

Mrs. Nordbye was born Jan. 2, 1921, in Plover, a daughter of
the late Glenn and Grace (Langton) Newby, the third of eight children. She
attended Roosevelt Grade School in Plover. She later attended Emerson High
School in Stevens Point.

She worked as a fur machine operator at Nigbor Furs in
Stevens Point and then at Sentry Insurance until she retired.

She was married to Richard Nordbye in May 1967 in Waukegan,
Ill. He died in 2006.

She was active in the Moose Lodge and was an officer at one
time. She helped a niece with the Newby Family History, contributing many
memories of her youth in Plover.

Survivors include one daughter, Arlene “Kay” (Ray) Olson,
Sun Prairie; two brothers, Earl (Shirley) Newby, Kenosha, and Ron Newby, Plover;
seven grandchildren; and two great-great- granddaughters.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Newby
and Marie James; three brothers, Wilbur “Bill,” Dale and William “Junior” Newby;
one son-in-law, Robert Ollerman; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
