John “Jack” Jochum

Mr. Jochum was born
a son of the late Howard and Emma (Lohman) Jochum. He grew up in Clarksville,
He was a laborer in a billiard ball factory and a surveyor
in New York.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as
a navigator on a B-24.
He went to college on the GI Bill, attending Southwestern at
College) in Tennesseewhere he was a
Phi Beta Kappa scholar.
He was married to Caro Ann Boyington55 years ago.
He came to Stevens Point
to work for Sentry Insurance where he served for 33 years.
After retirement, he volunteered at the Lincoln
Center, delivering Meals on Wheels,
driving donor organs to Madison,
and reading and recording textbooks for University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point students
who needed assistance.
He was a member of the Stevens Point Barbershoppers for many

(David)Jochum Chitharanjan, Stevens Point,
Karen (Donahue) Cameron, Connecticut,
Kathleen (Jim) Donahue Tessmer, Junction City,
and Lisa Jochum, Michigan; 12
grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
