Mini parks to make mark downtown

Fun on a Friday is about to get a new look.
Main Street Parks, a new event poised on the hope of making downtown Stevens Point more relaxed, more enjoyable and more inviting, will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, along Main Street and Strongs Avenue.
The inaugural event will shut down nine parking spots along Main Street and Strongs Avenue to create “mini-parks” in the slots outside six downtown businesses. The mini parks will feature fun and games such as kid-sized chess and oversized Jenga.
