School district works on pay model
A high employee turnover rate – with the majority of those voluntary and in the five-year or less service timeframe – coupled with compensation issues across the board has Stevens Point Area Public School District officials looking for changes.

“Right now, we think we’re losing some of the brightest and best,” Superintendent Craig Gerlach said. “This is a great community, the district is good at educating our kids, but our concern is we’re not going to be able to retain them (employees).”
