Joyce Y. Heart, 89, Marshfield, sister of a Stevens Point woman, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care in Marshfield.

Visitation will be held at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12.

Private family committal services and burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield.

The family will designate a memorial at a later date.

Mrs. Heart was born Dec.
13, 1926
, in Milwaukee,
a daughter of the late William and Marguerite (Holling) Steitzer. She attended Milwaukee
schools.

Later she obtained her GED and started her nursing career in
1964 as a nurse’s aide. She then attended St. Joseph’s Hospital School of
Nursing, graduating in 1981 at the age of 55. She was employed at St. Joseph’s
Hospital in Marshfield until her retirement in 1991.

She was married to Lee A. Heart in 1946 in Milwaukee.
They later divorced.

Survivors include six sons, William (Cindy) Heart, Ashland,
Lee (Lois) Heart, Salt Lake City, Utah, Dennis “Buck” (Barb) Heart, Chili,
Ronald (Carol) Heart, Marshfield, Richard Heart, Marshfield,and Jeffrey
(Carmen) Heart, Unity; five siblings, Neil (Michiko) Steitzer, Los Angeles, Calif.,
Dick Steitzer, Milwaukee, Beverly Steitzer, Stevens Point, Dave (Marilyn)
Steitzer, Rhinelander, and Michael (Marilyn) Hawley, Crivitz; eight
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her stepfather; one
half-brother, Charles Hawley; and one daughter, Karen in infancy.
