Year delay proposed for county projects
Portage County Capital Improvements/Economic Development Committee is recommending bumping the financial planning for two major Portage County projects for a year in the interest of gaining public opinion and more understanding of options available to the county.
With those delays, the committee agreed to present a 2017-22 Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) to the County Board for approval at its next meeting, 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20.
“This has been the most difficult Capital Improvements Projects plan we’ve had to deal with in a long time because of the differing opinions involved,” CIP Committee and County Board Chair Phil Idsvoog said.
